History and Heritage

Anglesey is a peaceful island you'd never believe quite what a past it has had. From the early bronze age it has been an industrious place trading Parys mountain (left) copper across the rest of Britain and beyond. The island is littered with ancient sites; burial chambers and standing stones are fascinating to visit. Roman and Viking invasions left their marks, Roman walls still guard the church of St. Cybi in Holyhead. Later years have left us a wealth of other places to visit including the working Llynnon windmill.

The Great Outdoors

Being an island you don't need to far to find a golden sandy beach or towering clifftop walk. Leafy roads and walking tracks crisscross the island as does a network of designated cycle tracks.
If more energetic pursuits are your thing, Anglesey is a mecca for surfers, kayakers, horse riders and even motor sports enthusiasts

Home to the famous Halen Mon sea salt we also have local cheeses, Wewlsh Beef and saltmarsh Lamb. There are artisan bakers and brewers to discover and we even have a flourishing vineyard. Dotted across the island are pubs and restautants of the finest quality. Eating and drinking your way around the island? Now there's a holiday challenge!
